Monitors
Configure an HTTP/HTTPS monitor
Watch a URL for availability and response time. Expected status codes, content matching, and the SSL option can be entered in the form, but the probe fleet does not apply them yet: every check is a GET and any 2xx or 3xx response counts as up.
Configure the request
- Enter an HTTP or HTTPS URL. The target can be up to 2048 characters.
- Choose a method: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, HEAD, PATCH, or OPTIONS. GET is the default.
- Add custom header names up to 100 characters and values up to 2048 characters. Header values cannot contain line breaks.
- Add a request body for POST, PUT, or PATCH requests. The body limit is 10 KB.
- Set the request timeout from 1 to 60 seconds. The default is 10 seconds. Retries accept 1 to 10 attempts, with 3 as the default.
- Custom headers, request body, method, timeout, and retries are saved with the monitor but are not applied by the probe fleet yet: every check is a plain GET with a fleet-wide timeout and retry policy.
Validate the response
- Set
expectedStatusCodes. The default is2xx; you can use an individual code such as200, a comma-separated list such as200,201, or a range such as200-299. - Add
responseContentMatchto require a text substring in the response body. - Set the response-time threshold from 100 to 60000 ms. The default is 5000 ms.
- Set the uptime threshold from 1% to 100%. The default is 99%.
Check the certificate
Probes always verify the certificate while connecting to an HTTPS target; an invalid certificate fails the check. The sslValidation option is saved with the HTTP monitor configuration but does not change that behaviour yet.
